APRIL 26th
2017 |
To Honor Our Beloved Students and Others from The University of Akron
|
Event Background & Purpose
Students and faculty of the University of Akron have recently lost fellow loved ones in our campus community. There was a need to honor the lives of these individuals by gathering the community together to celebrate their legacy's and help others in their name. To do this, every year we will continue to honor all members of the University of Akron community who have been lost, by hosting a dedication and charity event called the UA Day of Remembrance.

How Will We Do This?
On the evening of April 26 students will lead a dedication for those we will honor followed by a meal packaging event through the Non-Profit Rise Against Hunger (Previously known as StopHungerNow). Volunteers will work together to package bulk food into meals that will be distributed to hungry people around the world. |
How Can You Help?
You can help through personal contributions of money and/or time volunteering. Every 29 cents donated brings us 1 meal closer to our goal and allows for 1 more meal and grateful smile to be given in our loved ones name. Please see our Volunteer & Donation page for more info. |
